Meet Our Founder – Dr. Prem Aggarwal
A compassionate humanitarian, dedicated to bringing world-class healthcare within the economic and geographic reach of thousands of patients’ best describes Dr. Prem Aggarwal, the renowned ophthalmic surgeon with 40 years of experience behind him. He is the Founder Chairman and Medical Director of Aggarwal Eye Hospital. He is a cataract and refractive surgery specialist and an active clinician and surgeon.
Dr. Prem Aggarwal received his basic medical education and post graduate training in Ophthalmology at the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion Mumbai in 1981 and 1984 respectively. He went on to Head the Ophthalmic Department at civil hospital, Dhule as a representative of the 20 point programme under the National Progamme for Control of Blindness. During this period, he worked in many eye camps and operated thousands of poor and needy patients to give them vision. The dream of making world class eye care available spurred him to set up Aggarwal Eye Hospital in 1989 in the heart of Mumbai when private eye hospitals were virtually unknown in our country.
